Hardcover, in dust jacket. Etat : Near Fine. dj. First edition, first printing. TOUCH & BEHOLD Champion of the mid-twentieth-century Craft Revival, Allen Eaton, sought to connect the sighted and the blind in their love for beauty by compiling tactile works of art and natural wonders. With an introduction written by Hellen Keller, Eaton's collection offered beauty that transcends physical sight and inspired institutions like the Metropolitan Museum of Art to offer touch tour experiences in the 70s. This first edition is inscribed by Eaton on the half title page. Mild wear to corners and tips, front hinge slightly loose but holding firm, still near fine in very good minus, price-clipped dust jacket with moderate shallow chipping and closed tears to extremities, three light tape abrasions to verso, in mylar cover. Black and white photographs throughout, with color frontispiece. (illustrateur). Signed.
