Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. No Jacket. I am pleased to present this book about "Old Hanover," presented in a series of 72 very carefully made b&w photos (one plate to the page). This book was published in 1952, ten years after the end of the World War and there is no evidence in the photos of wartime destruction. Indeed, the very distinct architecture and style of the City is very obvious in the photos, and as described in the brief descriptions given for each photo. Regretably, my German isn't up to an in-depth understanding of the full import of the text. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The boards are clean and bright and barely bumped and the gilt titles and decorations on cover and spine are elegant. Inside, the book is unmarked and it would appear that there may have been a shortage, even then, of high quality printing paper; the text pages are uniformly darkened, due I would say to the basic quality of the page. The photo pages are clean and bright throughout. Both hinges are intact and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
