The basic idea of Prairieopolis Conference is to provide an opportunity for church people to view the Church and its mission against the social and economic reality of the region. The Church has not well understood this changing society. It may be that the Church's difficulty in relating to its changing setting arises, in part, because it operates within inherited structures which focus attention on problems of a previous age.

Hives was a Church of England missionary in Western Canada, serving variously at Cumberland House, Lac la Ronge, Payton, and Battleford. Evans 189; Peel(3) 7029. Not in Banks.
