It has been in my family since its publication, and my paternal great-grandfather, John Bradford Cave, was one of the men presented in the group of biographical sketches; the family line ends with me. The book is bound in its original black leather with gilt titles and decorations on the spine and front cover. Black and gold pattered end papers.
