Ajouter au panierHardcover. Etat : Very Good. Etat de la jaquette : Very Good. 1st Edition. First Edition, First Printing -- warmly inscribed by editor Helene Maxwell Hooker to activist Fola La Follette -- of this long-in-germination history of America's Progressive Party in the period 1912-1916. The history was compiled and largely written, but… never completed, by period activist Amos R.E. Pinchot. Pinchot had insider access, was well acquainted with such leading Progressives as former President Theodore Roosevelt and Wisconsin Progressive Robert La Follette, and included personal observations and impressions as part of his work. Historian Helene Maxwell Hooker whipped Pinchot's material into shape for publication while also contributing an extended introduction and extensive footnotes. (One is attempted to describe her a co-author). Warmly inscribed by Helen Maxwell Hooker to Fola La Follette on the front endpaper. Fola La Follette was Gov./Sen. La Follette's daughter and a Broadway actress as well as political activist. Fola receives a major shout-out in the acknowledgments section as well as a further acknowledgment in the p. 273 footnote mentioned in the inscription. 305 pages. Has a previous owner name stamped on the front pastedown page. The dust jacket has edge wear including a shallow chip at the bottom edge of the spine. Signed by Author(s).
