Near fine in a very good dust jacket with some light wear to the extremities. Eudora Welty won the 1973 Pulitzer Prize and was later awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. She was also the first living author to have her works published by the Library of America. A Curtain of Green is her first collection of short stories. In it she examines Mississippi, her state of birth, through the eyes of its inhabitants, and contemplates a realistic view of the extant racial relations. In the scarce dustjacket with the original price of $2.50 and "A.C.O.G." at the top of the flap; with the "3972-41" code at the bottom of the inside front flap. A few small chips at the bottom of the spine and some light chipping and rubbing to the top of the jacket spine. Light edge-rubbing and wear to the corners as well. The spine of the dustjacket islightly sunfaded;but front panel is quite bright and clear. The book is from the collection of noted bibliophile James. C. Mitchell who had an extensive correspondence with Welty and other Mississippi authors. Quite an attractive, collectible copy. First Edition.
