Leather. Etat : As is. No Jacket. Spine and cover are in fairly rough shape with the front cover being present, but complete detatched from the spine. Back cover is still very secure to spine. Despite this the pages are still quite tightly bound to spine save for the first handful which are a bit loose but still attached. Pages are yellowing with quite a bit of foxing and some bowing near the middle of the pages. Spine itself is quite tattered but most of the guilting is still intact. Bound in original full leather with decorative gilt stamped spines and title panels; gilt striped board edges. This set formerly belonged to the 11th Baron Blayney, Lieutenant General Andrew Thomas Blayney (1770-1834) of Blayney Castle, Ireland, and Lord Blayney's armorial bookplate is attached to the inside cover of all volumes except Volume 5. Some extensive rubbing wear to the front and back leather boards on all volumes, as well as chipping to the delicate decorative spines.
