This hardback traces the history of greenhouses, orangeries and glasshouses, covering early heating methods, glass construction and the gardening practices associated with them. The book is bound in red cloth with the title and author gilt-lettered on the spine, along with a small gilt illustration of a classical building above the publisher's name.
