Miscibility (or immiscibility) tests are performed in three techniques: viscometry method, DSC analyzer and FTIR to…test polymer blend in solid state. Two polymer blends were prepared . the first one was Poly methyl methacrylate (PMMA) and Poly vinyl acetate (PVAc) , and the second was Poly vinyl chloride (PVC) and Polystyrene (PS).Calculations of Flory -Huggins interaction parameter for two systems was performed and the results pointed to miscible blend for PMMA/PVAc blends and immiscible blend for PVC/PS blends. So there is a good agreement between the experimental results and calculations of interaction parameter based on Flory - Huggins theory .Differential scanning colarimetry (DSC) analyzer gave thermogram curves revealing one glass transition temperature for PMMA/PVAc blends except at (20/80) composition , this indicates that the system is miscible except at (20/80) composition . But , PVC/PS blends showed two glass transition temperature so the system is immiscible.FTIR analysis for PMMA/PVAc blends depicted a weak interaction between the two polymers 104 pp. Englisch.

Room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs) used as a membrane mainly due to their properties of low vapor pressure, low volatility and they are often stable. Four ionic liquids with high hydrophobicity were used: 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate [Bmim] [PF6], 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl) imide [Bmim][NTf2], 1-Ethyl-3-methyimidazolium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl) imide [Emim][NTf2] and 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate [Hmim][PF6], in which, phenol Extraction efficiency and stripping efficiency were studied. The effect of different types of anion and hydrophobicity of the ionic liquids on the phenol extraction and stripping efficiencies were investigated. So in order to obtain accurate properties of VLE attention ha…s been turned to calculate them from equations of state (EOS), noting that those equations of state are strongly nonlinear as well as inaccurate results may by obtained when they are applied to nonideal and polar systems. To overcome this problem efforts were directed to modify or improve EOS and their mixing and combining rules. In this book, isobaric vapor- liquid equilibrium for ternary systems has been measured at 101.325 KPa. The measurements were made in recirculating equilibrium still with circulation of both the vapor and liquid phases. . So in order to obtain accurate properties of VLE attention has bee…n turned to calculate them from equations of state (EOS), noting that those equations of state are strongly nonlinear as well as inaccurate results may by obtained when they are applied to nonideal and polar systems. To overcome this problem efforts were directed to modify or improve EOS and their mixing and combining rules. In this book, isobaric vapor- liquid equilibrium for ternary systems has been measured at 101.325 KPa. The measurements were made in recirculating equilibrium still with circulation of both the vapor and liquid phases. . In this book the calculation of VLE K-values is done by using the modified Soave Redlich and Kwong (SRK), modified Peng and Robinson (PR) equations of state and the proposed method that uses the new, three-parameter, temperature dependency form alfa function for the attractive term A of the Peng-Robinson equation of state.
