This volume is a collection of twelve scholarly yet accessible essays that examine the history of the University of Hong Kong, from the laying of its foundation stone in 1910 to its re-establishment after World War II. The former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hong Kong, Wang Gungwu, wrote the foreword of the publication. The book has been read, but is in good condition. Some bumps and creases are evident on the dust jacket e.g. scuff marks, but no holes or tears. Bound in the original publisher's dark green cloth with gilt lettering on the spine. Binding has minimal wear. The pages are undamaged but may have some slight creasing but this is negligible. There is a scuff from a removed sticker on the endsheet. It is clean and bright inside with a little wear to edges and corners. It contains some diagrams. There is no owner inscription.
