Boards have bumping to fore corners, shelfwear to edges, peeling and chipping to leather near edges, and light chipping to paper. Text blocks have gilded top edges and marbled endpapers; foxing and age-toning to edges, ex-libris bookplates to front pastedowns, penciling to front flyleaves, stress marks to some corners, and foxing throughout; volume 1 has penciling to title page, splitting to some gutters, and some signatures uncut.
