The book was published in 1973 by James Cummings in Stillwater Minnesota. Mr. Dingman, in a brief Introduction, stated the aim of this bibliography : "This bibliography is intende…d to serve as a guide to collectors, booksellers, libraries, and students of literary history, whose special interests include the area of limited and signed editions of American literature. The books of each author are listed in chronological sequence and include only those hardcover books which were limited numerically, or in small, deluxe editions and were signed by the author at the time of publication. . In most cases only hardcover books have been included. Broadsides, letters, paperbacks, etc. have been excluded. This guide is limited to only those authors listed in the "Oxford Guide to American Literature, 1969 edition. There are a few exceptions to this rule, especially with some of our later poets." TITLE : Bibliography of Limited and Signed Editions in Literature, Twentieth Century American Authors AUTHOR : Larry Dingman IMPRINT : James Cummings - Bookseller, Publisher PLACE : Stillwater, Minnesota DATE : (1973) EDITION : Unstated. It is my surmise that there was only one edition. STATUS : OP PHYSICAL DETAILS : Hardcover, published for the trade; Has a Preface; 285 pages; 5 1/2" x 8 1/4" ; red, imitation leather covered boards with gilt lettering on spine. No jacket issued. CONDITION -- VERY GOOD -- This is a previously owned book that remains clean and bright with near negligible signs of handling, the following particulars noted : EXTERIOR -- the lettering on the spine is considerably rubbed, being so faint as to be almost illegible, eLse the exterior is bright and clean with sharp corners. Text block edges are clean and unmarked. BINDING -- Tight INTERIOR -- Clean and free of marking.
