I mean, he was up dere wit da best of 'em: Humphrey, Gambino, Elliott Roosevelt, Namath, he knew 'em all. But sumpin was always happenin to him: da Mob got onto him, some jerk got rubber knees, some buddy got careless, and Lepera got caught and locked up. It's too bad, too. Dis guy had it all figured out with bad stocks, washin his money, wheelin used car dealerships, settin up phony trust funds, hasslin diplomatic couriers, diggin up sunken treasure, bankrollin revolution in the Caribbean. Another thing: he was always havin trouble wit his broads. But when he came into some bread, he really knew what to do with it, like da time he blew 49 clams on a shoe shine, or like da time he gave 500 bucks to a poor family that was bein evicted. A real guy, dis Lepera. He'll talk yer ear off. But the thing is, ya can never tell when he's tellin da truth or just bullshittin. . .(KIRKUS REVIEW). . .
