Pages 55 - 58 are detached and have been taped into place. Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn with slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are a mildly crushed, with small splits and chips. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Water marks to boards and spine.

Internally it would be good except that a child has coloured in the first nine of the black and white drawings. Four color and many b/w illustrations about wire-haired fox terriers Rags and Tatters had spent Christmas at Merriemead along with the Aberdeen Terrier, Mr. Binks. The two terriers stray and get lost for a few days, but luckily they meet up with Tuppence, a mongrel terrier who looks a lot like an Irish Terrierr. 96 pages. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

The book is in good condition with beige boards and black lettering; there is some fading of the endpapers and some rubbing at the edges. The dustjacket is in good condition, is unprice clipped and is protected by a mylar cover. This was NEVER A LIBRARY BOOK.

The book has one corner with some paper loss, a small neat name on the front end paper with an inscription on the verso. The jacket has some loss at the spine tips and corners.

The blank lower part of the Contents page has been neatly excised. The bottom edge of p21/22 has a repaired 1.5" closed tear. Pictorial endpapers toned. On the front fly is the first owner's name and address in an adult hand, and their attractive bookplate is fixed to the back of the frontis. 8.5x6.5ins, in the original ochre paper-coloured boards, decorated and titled to the front in green, and with a green cloth spine titled in blue. The binding is firm, mottled and lightly soiled, scuffed and slightly bumped at the corners, and the spine is dulled: the spine ends are crimped, and the ends and joints are rubbed. A good copy. Full of charm, and a scarce title.
