I have never had or seem any similar logging account manuscript books. - The index indicates lumber types and species: deals, red pine, spruce, tamarack, 1st and 2nd stumps, siding, good shorts, mill clulls, box siding, etc. An interesting record of types and sizes of wood common in the 1890's. Believed to be associated with the Ottawa Valley lumbering trade. - One entry mentions Perkins which we believe would be Perkins, P.Q., just north of Wakefield, still known for lumber.

Signer, Charles Alleyn, was ProvincialSecretary for the Province of Canada from 1858 to 1862. Joseph Cauchonheld the post of Commissioner of Public Works for the Canadas from 1861to 1862 and in 1877 was appointed Lieutenant- Governor of Manitoba.
