Foxing to edges and particularly strong upon fore-edge; toning to endpapers; vertical residue from removed tape strips on each pastedown; front free endpaper's top right has date stamp (May 31, 1948) and three-line ink notation regarding lending prices (the only lending library mark now present); ffep also chipped at bottom fore-edge corner with toning affecting front flyleaf's bottom corner; occasional foxing/brown staining to interior pages. Binding is firm. Kenneth Millar achieved fame as a mystery writer under his pseudonym Ross Macdonald (aka John Macdonald and John Ross Macdonald).
