Ajouter au panierHardcover. Etat : Very Good. 2nd Printing. No dust jacket, very light wear at the top and bottom of the spine, name, address, date on decorated front end page. 6 X 8.5" 227 pages, published 1958. A newspaper clipping from the Herald Magazine May 13, 1961 is laid in between pages 144 & 145 and has stained the pages. The article contains a copy of Bob Edwards' resignation as chairman of the Advertising Committee of the Board of Trade, Calgary, Feb. 22, 1907. His job was to entice newcomers to Calgary through pamphlets and advertising literature, which he refused to do any longer because of the lies he had to tell. He goes on to say "Here in Calgary we pay 10 cents for a loaf of bread, and the farmer gets 50 cents a bushel for his wheat. Why don't you put that in your pamphlets?" He was loved by the fortunate ones who knew him well, enjoyed by thousands who read his humor and recognized traits of genius, and feared and hated by any who did not care to face the truth.
