Ajouter au panierPaperback small folio, very good plus condition, thick card covers (with flaps), colour text-photos (many full-page), maps, glossy paper, minor edgewear. Heavy (1.7 Kg), and extra postage may be requested to destinations outside Australia. 271 pp. This art book was published on the occasion of the exhibition: 'They are Meditating: Bark Paintings from the MCA's Arnott's Collection', Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, 2008. Assembled by Californian businessman and graphic designer, Jerome Gould from the 1960s to the early 1980s, it was gifted to the Museum by Arnott's Biscuits Ltd in 1993 - coinciding with the Year of the World's Indigenous People. The collection features works from important artists and represents the creative hubs in and around Groote Eylandt, Yirrkala, Galiwin'ku (Elcho Island), Milingimbi, Ramingining, Gunbalanya (Oenpelli), Wadeye (Port Keats), and the Tiwi Islands over time. The bark paintings of Aboriginal artists in Arnhem Land, Port Keats and the Tiwi Islands are the product of a unique legacy of many thousands of years length. Michael, Linda (catalogue editor). Mundine, Djon (guest curator). Munro, Keith (curator, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander programs). (This book, ISBN 9781921034237, is a large format paperback.).
