While the physical subject remains the same, the true focus is the shifting light and atmosphere. Macpherson used a consistent 6" x 8" format and a limited palette of only four colors plus white to capture how the scene changed with the seasons and hours. Kevin Macpherson is a renowned American Impressionist plein air painter (born 1956) celebrated for his vibrant, light-filled landscape paintings of the Southwest, California, and international scenes. A Master artist with the Oil Painters of America and American Impressionist Society, he is also an author, educator, and founder of the Art Ambassador for a Colorful World foundation.
