Egerton Byerson Young was a Methodist preacher livin…g with his wife and children amongst the Cree and Salteaux Indians for many years. "The author has told the story of his suffering, his toils and his triumphs, substantially as they are presented here to vast audiences in the Dominion of Canada, and in the United States." (Gracey). Beautifully illustrated with b/w reproductions of photographs and artwork throughout, many of them full page. Binding with light wear along edges, head and tail of spine, lightly rubbed and three small stains on back cover. Pencil entry at top of title page, including the year "1888" and the reference "class mate," and brief at top of list of illustrations. Block lightly age-toned.
