Originally published in 1866, this is among the titles in the Little Prudy Series. The author, Rebecca Sophia Clarke, aka Sophie May, 1833-1906, was called the Dickens of the nursery and was noted for her realistic characterization of children who were often naughty and uninhibited in the stories.
