Jugendliche identifizieren sich mit ihren Lieblingsrappern und wollen genau so sein wie sie. Die Rapper sind aber durch ihren unverantwortlichen Lebensstil, meist ohne Arbeit und mit starkem Hang zum Alkohol ein mehr als schlechtes Vorbild für die deutsche Jugend.So wird deutscher Rap meist schnell als eklatant niveaulos und gesellschaftszerstörend dargestellt, ohne dass sich einmal die Texte angesehen werden, die von diesen Rappern geschrieben werden. Zu oft werden berühmte Rapper wie Bushido, mit gewaltverherrlichenden, frauen- und schwulenfeindlichen Texten, als verallgemeinernde Beispiele für die gesamte Rap-Szene gebraucht. Doch was sich hinter dem Vorhang befindet, die Rapper, die wirklich etwas leisten mit ihrer Musik, werden durch die Schuld ihrer berühmten Kollegen zu niveaulosen Gangstern degradiert, ohne dass ihre Musik jemals wirklich ernsthaft betrachtet wurde. Dabei sind ihre Texte meist viel niveauvoller und durchdachter als die 'Kommerzschlager', die den gesamten Tag im Radio rauf und runter laufen.Aus diesem Grund soll in den folgenden Ausführungen eine klare Grenze zwischen niveauvollem und niveaulosem Rap gezogen werden. Deutscher Rap ist kein durch ständig verwendete Beleidigungen und Flüche abzuwertendes Musikgenre.
