Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. In this 19th century criminal investigation and trial, a man and woman accused of conspiring to assassinate the French king stand before a jury. The book traces the court proceedings as the prosecution seeks to prove the guilt of the accused based on a series of letters and other incriminating evidence. The defense, however, argues that the so-called evidence was illegally obtained and that the charges are part of a wider political conspiracy to suppress dissent and cling to aristocratic privilege. The trial becomes a battleground not only for the lives of the accused but also for the ideals of justice, equality, and the rule of law in a society still struggling to come to terms with the legacy of revolution. Through the close examination of historical documents, this book provides a vivid and thought-provoking look into a pivotal moment in French history, laying bare the tensions between individual rights and the preservation of public order. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…

[Ca 1822-1825]. - Note autographe (fragment ?), s. l. n. d., 2 pages in-12 oblong à l'encre brune : "moi qui suis une puissance du monde, ils croyaient me dominer.
