Ed published by C.L.F. Panckoucke in 1814 in Paris. Author: Francois Pierre Chaumeton (1775-1819) was assisted in this work by J. Chambaret and J. Poiret. Pierre-Jean-Francois Turpin (1775-1840) is considered by many as the greatest French botanical painter of his time. His drawings of botanical details have rarely been surpassed. He co-operated and was inspired by the botanical painter Poiteau (1776-1854).
