A number of references in text and illustration call attention to specimens in the former University of Singapore Collection which is also housed in the National Museum. This publication represents a fruitful collaboration involving Museum staff and volunteer researchers from the Friends of the National Museum. We are indebted to Natalie V. Robinson and Nancy Kidney for undertaking the time-consuming cataloguing of our ceramic and metalwork kendis, and also for writing the informative paper "Perspective on Kendis in the National Museum" to supplement the Introduction. Line drawings central to their text were executed by Elizabeth Brown, to whom we also extend our appreciation." preface by Eng-Lee Seok Chee, National Museum.…
