An den namentlich nicht genannten Philosophen und Theologen David Friedrich Strauß (1808-74), dessen "Leben Jesu" Nefftzer zusammen mit Charles Dollfus ins Französische übersetzt hatte: "Die Angabe der deutschen Blätter war irrig, und es ist mir leid, daß Sie nur einen einzigen Augenblick haben d…enken können auf solche indirekte Weise von dem Erscheinen der Uebersetzung Kenntniß zu erlangen. Sie hatten das beste Recht auf das erste Exemplar und werden es wohl Ende dieses Monats [.] erhalten". - Nefftzer hatte 1857 zusammen mit Dollfus die "Revue germanique" gegründet, war seit 1858 für Emile de Girardins "Presse" tätig und gründete 1861 mit "Temps" ein Blatt, das sich innerhalb der liberalen Presse eine besondere Position zu erringen wußte. - Auf Briefpapier mit gedr. Briefkopf des "Temps".
