From Swiss daily newspaper the Journal de Genève, this work collects various original documents pertaining to the early moments of the First World War, including the Belgian negotiations, King Albert I's speeches, a statement by Sir. Ed Grey in the House of Commons, and a statement by the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Bonnard, not credited other than his presentation inscription, was a lawyer, journalist and politician from Vaud. From 1910 to 1917 he was editor-in-chief of the Journal deGenève.
