Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book examines the complex negotiation process between the East India Company and the British government that took place during the late 18th century. This negotiation followed a period of great political and social change across the globe and resulted in significant shifts in the balance of power between the two entities. The author delves deep into the tensions and motivations of both sides to provide a detailed historical account of how the two parties negotiated, the compromises made, and the eventual outcome. Theoretically, this work contributes to a better understanding of how powerful entities negotiate with each other when their power balance is shifting. It can also serve as a cautionary tale on the importance of due diligence when conducting business negotiations. Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book presents a compelling argument for the appropriation of federal lands to promote education across the United States. The author provides a comprehensive examination of the historical and legal context surrounding the debate over land grants for educational purposes, particularly focusing on the Maryland Resolutions. Through a detailed analysis of primary sources, the author challenges the notion that the allocation of lands for education in new states, formed from federal territories, was fairly compensated by the exemption of those lands from taxation for a limited period. The book delves into the complex legal and economic implications of land use, taxation, and the distribution of resources for education, shedding light on the ongoing debate over equity and access to quality education across different regions of the United States.
