Ajouter au panierBroadside. Etat : Very Good binding. First Edition. Broadside. 13" x 7." Limited edition, one of 25 copies. Printed in black the recto. Light toning and some very minor wear to the extremities. A very presentable copy. Originally printed sometime between 1863 and 1865, the poem is a response to John Harrolson's 1863 Selma Sentin…el advertisement requesting that the women of Selma preserve their urine for the purpose of making saltpeter. An absurd but oddly amusing poem. Though not noted, this is probably an imprint of the Palaemon Press. In addition to 25 copies stated, there was one copy printed on Confederate banknote paper and presented to Richard Wilbur (Checklist of Works Published by Stuart Wright and Palaemon Press Limited by Duke University). Stuart Wright is perhaps most known as a publisher and owner of Palaemon Press in Winston-Salem, NC, a noteworthy press that published many Southern poets.
