Sample was artist-in-residence at Dartmouth College at the time. Accompanying text promotes the insurance company and provides a lengthy description of the more than 50 Vermont-themed elements and images that make up the mural. Rear panel invites visitors to National Life's new office building, largest in Northern New England--"From this building you will thrill to one of the most captivating views of the Green Mountains."
