Hauptsächlich wurde der Masseter untersucht, ferner ein menschlicher Pterygoideus int. und endlich ein menschlicher und zwei tierische Temporales. Die Untersuchung des Masseters bildet somit den Grundstock der Arbeit." Paul Schiefferdecker, "geboren am 26. Februar 1849 in Königsberg, oblag daselbst seinen Studien und promovierte 1872. Er war 1. Assistent am Physiologischen (GOLTZ) sowie am Anatomischen Institut (WALDEYEK) in Straßburg und Prosektor am Anatomischen Institut (MERKEL) in Rostock, wo er sich 1876 für Anatomie habilitierte, und in Göttingen (HENLE, MERKEL). 1888 folgte er einem Rufe als Prosektor an das Anatomische Institut in Bonn (LA VALETTE ST. GEORGE, BONNET) und wurde hier 1889 a. o. Professor, 1908 Vorstand der neugegründeten Abteilung am Anatomischen Institut, später o. Hon. Professor. 1923 emeritiert, entsagte er nicht der wissenschaftlichen Arbeit und hatte die für ihn geschaffene Lehrkanzel für Anthropologie inne. Er starb am 12. April 1931 in Bonn.
