Founded by Charles Holme, a former silk merchant with a deep interest in international aesthetics, the magazine became a vital platform for the Art Nouveau, Arts and Crafts, and later Modernist movements. Wallpaper item is an offprint in a printed folder, 11x8 inches, the article is loose-leaf with a single very large leaf of glazed alkaline paper on which is reproduced several of Morris' wallpaper designs in color, this leaf folded to fit the Floud folder. This item is lightly foxed within, has external spots of heavy foxing. [Plus] The Furneaux is a neat, beautifully produced sewn pamphlet of 31 page in excellent condition, printed by Dolmen Press for the society; unopened signatures, slight edgewear to covers, threads quite sound. [Plus] The letterhead notices are rubricated and total five pages of printed material (society doings) four of which are reproduced from typescript; all are creased, torn and soiled. These items as a scanty lot. The wallpaper wizard block-printed only, and only allowed a couple of machine runs to please an associate who thought machines could execute subtle effects.

A folder with an article reprinted from the Penrose Annual, volume 54, 1960 (4 loose sheets with the article and a stapled section of colour and black and white plates), lower corners creased), Tributes to Peter Floud and the Published Writings of Peter Floud (8 stapled pages, lower corner of all pages creased, stains on rear cover), a small printed sheet promoting the Peter Floud Memorial Fund and a list of William Morris Society pubnlications (folded sheet printed as 7 pages). The folder is browned at the edges and creased at the corners.
