Barr is a hardcover edition, 2nd printing (July 1991) published by Plenum Press. The book is in Good+ condition. The covers are well-preserved with only light rubbing to corners and indented spine ends. The…binding is square and tight. There are two small paperclip impressions visible at the top of the text block. The front edge of the text block bears the former owner's name printed in large block letters. There is light abrasion to the front flyleaf and front paste-down (inside the front cover). The interior pages are sparsely marked on fewer than ten pages, otherwise clean and bright.This text serves as an introduction to electrophysiology, employing a quantitative approach. The initial chapter provides a summary of the mathematics required in the subsequent chapters. The second chapter offers a concise overview of the general principles of electrical fields and current flow, applicable to biological environments. The core material of the book spans the third to seventh chapters, covering topics such as the description of membrane voltages, action potentials, propagation of action potentials, and the response of fibers to artificial stimuli.The book delves into the study of cardiac and neural electrophysiology in subsequent chapters, offering a detailed exploration of the application of fundamental principles to these areas. It also includes a chapter on recent developments in membrane biophysics. The study of electrophysiology has evolved rapidly, thanks to precise experimental studies and the development of increasingly accurate theoretical concepts.
