Ajouter au panierHardcover. Etat : Near Fine. Etat de la jaquette : Very Good. Jacket design by Robert Anthony (illustrateur). 1st Edition. Paul E. Erdman (1932-2007) was an economist, banker, and internationally recognized financial novelist whose thrillers blended authentic banking knowledge with Cold War politics and global energy markets. The Crash of '79 became one of his defining novels, imagining an economic catastrophe driven by Middle Eastern oil politics, financial instability, and international intrigue. Remarkably prescient in many respects, the novel gained renewed interest after the Iranian Revolution and subsequent oil crises, making it one of the landmark financial thrillers of the 1970s. Its detailed geopolitical maps and realistic economic scenarios distinguish it from typical suspense fiction of its era. Condition: Book grades Near Fine. Black and olive-green cloth boards remain exceptionally clean with bright white spine lettering. Binding is tight and square with crisp, clean interior pages free of writing or ownership marks. The original dust jacket is in Very Good condition. The jacket retains strong color but exhibits several closed tears and chips concentrated at the spine ends and upper edges, along with moderate edge wear, light rubbing, and mild age toning. The front panel remains bright and highly presentable. An attractive early printing of one of the most collectible financial thrillers of the decade.
