Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book delves into stratigraphic data and examines the large and distinct gastropod assemblage found in the Middle Devonian Anderdon Limestone located in Michigan, Ohio, and Ontario. The Anderdon Limestone is unique to this region and is critical in differentiating between it and other formations. The author presents detailed descriptions and illustrations of 33 new species and six new genera of gastropods discovered within the limestone. Through extensive research, the author offers ecological insights into this ancient marine environment, proposing two primary ecological settings that supported gastropod life: a biostromal habitat characterized by corals and stromatoporoids, and an inter-reef habitat with fine-grained sediments. The detailed observations and analysis provide valuable information for understanding the evolution and diversity of gastropod species during the Middle Devonian period. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
