Davidson (formerly Sallie Davenport) a Montana pioneer women. It was donated by her to the Historical Society of Montana in Helena. Her husband A.J. Davidson was a very prominent Montana businessman in wagons, saddles, furs and hay. Now in a clear protective Mylar cover. This being the classic and standard history of the early stage lines. This copy with a nice presentation inscription by the author, dated 1920, to Ira Rand, the son of Pony Express rider Theodore Rand: "To Ira Rand, Atchison, Kansas, who is one of my 'passengers' on 'The Overland Stage to California,' and is a son of my friend, the late Theodore Rand, who was one of the fearless 'Pony Express' riders on the Plains in the early sixties. Hoping you may have a pleasant journey over the noted trail on the historic 'concord' stage-coach, is the earnest wish of Sincerely and truly yours, Frank A. Root, the author."
