Travels in the Shingshal Mustagh Area of the Karakorum, in today`s Pakistan. Wonderful Association Copy - the copy of the Royal Central Asian Society with their library rules inside the front cover and a red library label noting that the book cannot be taken out of the library on the front cover, no other library markings. Sprache: Englisch Gewicht in Gramm: 550.

Overall a very good copy in slightly defective dustwrapper.

Etat : Sehr gut. Original cloth, 288 pp., 8 colour photo plates by George Sherriff, folding map, very good condition. Important book about travels from Kashgar to Turfan, Urumchi, Khotan, Bogdo Ola, Niya, Lop Nor and much else in Central Asia. Compare the book by Fletcher about George Sherriff, who also travelled extensively the area. Robert Byron`s copy with his pencilled signature on the front endpaper and some pencilled notes on passages of the book he found noteworthy on the rear endpaper. Books from Byron`s library, more so about Central Asia, are scarce. Sprache: Englisch Gewicht in Gramm: 1050.

Plate facing page 52 'The Chot Pert Massif has possibly been replaced at some time. Neate, 525, " Exploring north of the main range, in the Raskam, Shaksgam, Oprang, and Bealdu valleys.".
