There are many full page illustrations. This copy lacks title page, table of contents and preface; also lacking pages 521-534--the missing pages do not appear to have been bound in this volume. The spine title is: Sears Pictorial Library, so the book's title is derived from that. There is an old Locust Street Public Schools (Philadelphia) bookplate on the front end paper. The original binding is quite worn and the leather spine is split at the rear outer joint & also horizontally in center--this does not affecting tightness of book.
