Maine s little-known Ducktrap River is one of these rare salmon rivers. In 1995, a group of what now numbers 26 diverse organizations, including conservation groups, state and federal agencies, local governments and citizens groups, began working cooperatively with landowners to restore and protect the natural and scenic attributes of the Ducktrap watershed, including the salmon.
