Otherwise, flawless. Extraordinarily handsome example. Cover photo, by Cedric Wright, is of the John Muir Trail in the High Sierra; the theme of the issue - Wildlife in Our Civilization - was that of the Fifth Biennial Wildlife Conference, from which most of this issue's content was taken. The SC doing its environmental activism early and often, as it always has, so much better than so many others. There is no "civilization" in the normal sense within, of course; just gorgeous photos by masters like Wright, Philip Hyde, David Simmons and Lee Talbot, with memorable accompanying text (see scan of contents page for details) by those gentlemen as well as David R. Brower, A. Starker Leopold, Lowell Sumner, William Bridge Cook, Don M. Wilson and of course editor August Frugé, on topics including the Northern Cascades, Beavers, Wilderness Fung, Spider Rock and much else. Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. Lot of 36 titles from the Arno / New York Times Series The American Negro, His History and his literature. All told, the volumes are clean and well kept. From the home of a well regarded historian of Black studies. Also was a tobacco smoker, and that combined with age has led to occasional toning / darkening of the tan cloth part of these hardcover volumes - though without any consistency, it is present to some degree on nearly all. Faint odor as well, especially for those of sensitive nose, though to this seller it is not egregious. Besides that, the condition is pretty solid on all. Binding are all quite strong, sturdy, tight , square. No markings were found in any of the books, and no other damage to interiors at all. One volume has some fraying to the edge of the cloth of the front, and some of the volumes have lesser or greater degrees of rubbing, scuffing, dustsoiling, but all told clean beyond the toning.
