Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book presents a comprehensive overview of the development of engraving in Britain, France, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Holland, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Italy, Switzerland, and the United States. The author's analysis explores the ways in which engraving has evolved as both a technique and art form within the broader history of printmaking. Additionally, the book examines the varying roles that engraving has played in the development of artistic movements and its increasing acceptance as an artistic medium in its own right. Providing a rich historical context for the works discussed, the book also sheds light on the influence engraving has had on the art world and the ways in which it has reflected and advanced societal developments and artistic trends. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
