The main objective of the research study presented herein was to examine the residual magnetic structures left by a degaussing device (aka degausser) and to develop novel information recovery models and algorithms for de-magnetized magnetic storage media.This book introduces the underlying theory and implementation of novel signal and image processing algorithms applicable to the recovery of residual information patterns from degaussed magnetic storage media, such a floppy discs and computer hard drives. The book also contains preliminary research results that were obtained while applying these algorithms to real-world examples of degaussed magnetic storage media.
