Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. Etat de la jaquette : Very Good. First English Edition. 144 pages plus approximately 200 pages of sumptuous color and black and white photos, a glossary of decorative motifs on cloisonne, and a bibliography. "For the connoisseur and collector interested in Chinese cloisonne, a comprehensive pictorial documentation including detailed reproductions of all marks, even doubtful or misleading ones, seemed to us more sensible and useful than any other alternative. For this reason captions were kept as brief a spossible, and detailed discussion and assessment of major and key pieces were relegated to the introductory chapters, for which a historial approach was adopted. We have endeavored to propose dates as cautionsly as possible, taking into account our close scrutiny and all available information." - Author's Preface. Light wear to attractive cream cloth-bound boards. Contents clean, bright and unmarked. Moderate wear to dust jacket now preserved in archival-grade Brodaft. A nice copy of this beautiful work.
