Mechanics of Solids is a basic engineering course that deals with the behaviour of solid bodies subjected to various types of loading. The basic objectives of this course are the determination of the stresses, strains and deformations produced by the loads. The main objective of this book is to present the aspects of mechanics of materials in unified and integrated manner. This book is structured to meet the requirements of the course contents of Mechanics of Solids or Strength of Materials for undergraduate students of civil, mechanical and aerospace engineering. It is also a valuable reference for practising engineers and architects. The book covers the syllabi of various universities and AICTE undergraduate curriculum of engineering and solid mechanics.
