Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book presents a collection of cases determined in the Supreme Court of the Cape of Good Hope. These cases, originating from the 19th century, primarily address the legal rights and responsibilities of shipowners, shippers, agents, and other parties involved in maritime commerce. The author examines issues such as seaworthiness of vessels, the liability of part-owners for damages, the calculation of insurance premiums, the distribution of costs in joint actions, and the principles of general average contribution in cases of voluntary stranding. Through detailed analysis of these cases, the book provides valuable insights into the historical development of maritime law and its application to specific legal scenarios.
