Mass Market Paperback. Etat : Good. First Edition. Paperback Original. Lion Books LB130. All the stories had originally been published in Justice magazine in 1955 and 1956. The front cover has some surface creasing and the text block protrudes a little at the right edge. The covers have been cut oddly so that the spine design runs over onto the rear panel. The spine is a little worn with some edge rubbing and chipping at the bottom where there is a one inch crack next to the front cover. The back cover has some surface creasing and marking. The edges of the text block are a little uneven but the binding feels secure. Two light marks to the inside of the front cover, a small closed tear to the edge of page 121 and a small stain to page 65. Browning to the pages which are otherwise unmarked. First printing. Postage charge will be reduced by £1.50 when the order is processed. Kunstler, Mort (illustrateur).

Octavo, single issue, cover by Rafael DeSoto, pictorial wrappers. Pulp magazine. "Zara-Master of Murder!" with Norvell Page writing as "Grant Stockbridge." The character was established to be a direct competitor to Street and Smith's Shadow magazine. After Doc Savage and The Shadow this was the most popular hero character. The Spider character was considered one of the most brutal and violent of the pulp era. [Reference: Cook, Mystery, Detective and Espionage Magazines, pp. 521-527. Tymm and Ashley, Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Weird Fiction Magazines, pp. 602-604]. Tanning to text paper, edge wear with tiny tears, clear tape to spine and right edge, stress creases, a good to very good copy. (34822).
