This book deals with the historic necessity for creating the army of a new type, tells about the Soviet experience of building its armed forces, their consolidation and development. Much of the material is about the varied ties between the working people and their army, and the unity of the people and their armed forces as the key source of their military prowess and high state of combat readiness.
