Today, the Bodleian Library has the largest known collection of Sanskrit manuscripts outside the Indian subcontinent numbering some 11,000 items in all. The first catalogue (in two volumes + 1 supplement) of their collection was published between 1864 and 1909. The first volume was intended to be executed by Professor F. Max Müller in 1855, but his engagements did not allow him to complete it. The task was therefore attributed to Theodor Aufrecht who completed the first volume in 1864. A supplement of Professor Aufrecht's first volume was published in 1909, but is not featured in this offer.
