Paperback. Etat : New. Since the 21st century, national aerospace industry has developed rapidly with an explosive increase in satellites. To coordinate the in-orbit satellites and their management resources for better social, economic, and military applications, the satellite task scheduling is required. As the satellite management and application manners change over the years, cross-agency and cross-model have become the new normal, and the integration and quick-response have become the new requirements. Under such circumstances, the one satellite, one system shortcoming in system development and application occurs, while those systems that differ in agencies, modes, and types cannot accommodate each other; hence, the generality of satellite scheduling models and algorithm must be strengthened. To address the one satellite, one system shortcoming, the cooperative, flexible, efficient applications, and the monopoly of the U.S. STK/Scheduler, a Satellite Task Scheduling Engine that contains general-purpose modeling and optimization methods is studied in this book.…

Hardback. Etat : New. This book delves into the complex and evolving field of agile Earth observation satellite technology and its scheduling challenges. With the capability for large-angle maneuvering, stereo and continuous area imaging, these satellites significantly expand observational capabilities. However, the rapid enhancement of these satellites, paired with increasing observational demands, has made agile satellite scheduling an NP-hard problem. Research into collaborative scheduling for agile satellites has thus become crucial.Heuristic Methods of Agile Satellites Coordination and Scheduling presents a systematic overview of the authors' research findings, with a focus on the application of heuristic optimization methods. The book consists of six chapters covering basic theory, technical challenges, and solutions for agile satellite scheduling; particularly focusing on time-dependent scheduling, multi-satellite coordination, scheduling considering time-varying cloud cover and emergency task response. The book broadens horizons and provides practical guidance for graduate students, researchers, and professionals in management science and engineering, and remote sensing applications.…
