Conservato all'interno un foglietto con alcune note manoscritte con grafia coeva relative al pittore. Elogio storico del pittore Pasquale Massacra, nato a Pavia nel 1819, ucciso nel 1849, a soli trent'anni a causa di un'azione patriottica. Le sue opere, presentate all'Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, ricevettero giudizi estremamente favorevoli e l'artista, ancora giovanissimo, venne salutato come un potenziale innovatore della futura pittura italiana.
